2 SBs and a Pregnant Lady
Here are some images from a shoot I did with Dagmara a couple weeks ago. We had worked together a couple of times before and when I learnt that she was heavily pregnant I jumped at a chance to shoot her. The wonderful Vanessa tagged along and took care of the hair and make up.

First up, simple black and white portrait against the wall, just to warm up. Great big 60″ reflective umbrella, so big I usually need 2 speedlights to fill the sucker with enough light. But what a light it gives off! Reflector to camera left for a little fill, Vanessa is blowing a hairdryer towards Daggie for a little movement in the hair.

Next up, something a little different. This was actually shot against a great big window in Daggies living room. She had fine white curtains with a wonderful diffuse light coming through them. I gave the natural light a little push in th right direction with the aid of a SB28 fired through a shoot through umbrella to spread the light around a bit. This gave a nice wrap around back light. Up front the 60″ reflective again, just with the one speedlight this time to fill in.

Went for something a little more feminine next. Just moved both speedlights round behind Daggie firing against the white curtains again. Nothing from the front other than ambient light for fill.

Moved back against the wall for something a little more artistic next. 2 bare SB28s with a cut of CTO each, fired against a white wall. Later decided I preferred the desaturated look more. Slightly more feminine I think.

After a hard days shooting Daggie hit the bath…and we followed;) She decapitated all her fresh flowers first tho. I stood directly above her, one SB28 fired through a diffuser for quick simple soft light. Just as well, as had it been any more complicated, we would have missed our return train.

Vanessa told me about these and I have been waiting to see them! Good work dude!

Its amazing how you manage with speedlites! Makes me question my expensive studio!!

All great shots. I love the rock-n-roll baby and bath shots. Well done.
